HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team returns to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall to start a three-game homestand with Gulf South Conference games against visiting Valdosta State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. followed by West Florida on Saturday at 4 p.m.

UAH enters the home matchups this week with a 10-4 overall record and an 8-2 mark in conference play to rank tied for first in GSC standings, following a narrow loss on the road at Union on Monday.

The Chargers currently rank second in the GSC in scoring offense so far this season with 82.8 points per game, led by
Luke Burnett and
Tommy Murr at 17.1 points per game and 16.9 points per game respectively.
Â
Both Burnett and Murr rate in the top 10 in the GSC in scoring this season, and UAH is one of three teams with multiple players in the top 10 in scoring for the league.

Junior
Jack Kostel has been a strong all-around presence for the Chargers, as he enters Thursday averaging 11.3 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and 3.7 assists per game. He ranks in the top 10 in the GSC in total assists (52) and total rebounds (91) heading into the three-game homestand.

Valdosta State comes into Thursday with a 6-8 overall record and a 3-7 mark in GSC games, after falling at home to Montevallo by a score of 94-87 on Monday. The Blazers average 79.1 points per game, led by Caden Boser at 15.1 points per contest.

West Florida starts out the latter part of the week's slate with a 4-9 overall record that includes a 2-7 mark in GSC play, after most recently topping Montevallo at home on Saturday by a score of 83-71. The Argonauts are averaging 73.6 points per game, paced by Xavier Washington at 15.3 points per contest.

UAH holds all-time series records of 29-33 against VSU and 42-16 against UWF.

After Saturday's game, UAH wraps up the three-game homestand on Saturday, Jan. 20 with a visit from AUM for a 4 p.m. tip-off. The Chargers will be celebrating the UAH Athletics Hall of Fame incoming inductees and former inductees as part of next Saturday's game.
