Men's Basketball Hosts Shorter Thursday, Lee Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team is back home at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall twice this week with Gulf South Conference matchups against Shorter on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Lee on Saturday at 4 p.m.
 
The Chargers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting International Student-Athlete Night as part of Thursday's contest, while Saturday's game is highlighted as Military Appreciation Day presented by AUSA.

General admission to all UAH men's basketball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Bentley Automotive. Reserved seating is additionally available for purchase online through HomeTown Ticketing.
 
UAH comes into the week at a 13-6 overall record and an 11-4 GSC mark, after most recently falling on the road at West Alabama on Saturday. The Chargers remain amongst the leaders in the GSC standings, with the Blue & White currently in second.
 
The Chargers offense continues to rank amongst the top of the GSC at 82.2 points per game, thanks to Tommy Murr and Luke Burnett at 17.2 points per game and 16.5 points per game, respectively. Murr is currently fourth in the league in scoring, followed closely by Burnett in sixth.
 
Daniel Saylor has come on strong offensively for UAH since the start of the new year, as the junior has averaged 10.7 points per game in that stretch and shooting 76.1 percent (32-42) from the field.
 
Shorter comes into Thursday's contest at a 3-16 overall record and a 1-14 GSC record, after dropping a home matchup to AUM on Saturday. The Hawks offense is guided by Gary Clay Jr. at 13.8 points per game, with SU averaging 75.0 points per game as a team.
 
Lee enters the week's slate with a 13-5 overall record and a 10-5 mark in GSC play, following a home win over Montevallo on Saturday. The Flames average 80.7 points per game, led by Beyuan Hendricks at 15.9 points per contest.
 
UAH holds all-time series records of 19-3 against Shorter and 20-6 against Lee.
 
After Saturday's game, the Chargers begin a three-game road stint at Delta State next Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
