BIRIMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its 2024 volleyball season awards, and The UAH volleyball team was represented by
Autumn Mayes and
Kayla Ward as First Team All-GSC honorees as well as
Savannah Rutledge with a Second Team All-GSC selection.

This is the second straight season in which Mayes and Rutledge earned All-GSC honors and the second consecutive First Team selection for Mayes. Ward was named All-GSC for the first time in her Charger career as the conference's leader in blocks per set.Â
Ward led the GSC in hitting percentage this season at .445 and blocks per set at 1.26. The sophomore from Batesville, Arkansas, had 98 total blocks and 134 kills in the 2024 campaign.Â
Mayes earned her second straight First Team distinction as she spearheaded the UAH offense with 324 total kills on the year and a team-high 3.09 kills per set. The Dothan, Alabama, native also ranked second on the team in digs with 354 total and a 3.37 digs per set average.Â
Rutledge, last year's GSC Setter of the Year earned Second Team consideration for the second year in a row after leading the Chargers in assists with 615 on the year. She posted a 5.86 assists per set average which placed her seventh in the category within the GSC.Â
The Chargers are the second-seeded team in the GSC Volleyball Championship and have earned a bye to the semi-final match on Saturday at 4:30 pm in Pensacola, Florida.
