No. 19 Men's Basketball Hosts Blue Mountain in Final Regular Season Non-Conference Game on Monday

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 19 UAH men's basketball team is set to host their final non-conference game of the regular season tomorrow night at 6:30 pm at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall as they play host to Blue Mountain.

The Chargers return home after going 3-0 away from Spragins Hall over the past two weeks as they also notched their first Gulf South Conference win of the season in an 88-83 victory over Trevecca Nazarene on Wednesday.

Through six games, the Chargers rank third in points per game (85.3 PPG) and three point percentage (38.6%) in the GSC. UAH also ranks second in the league in defensive rebounds as they have hauled in 29.2 per game. Tommy Murr and Luke Burnett rank first and third, respectively in points per game this season in the GSC, with Murr ranking 17th in the nation in the category with 23.0 PPG. 

Burnett leads the league in three pointers made per game (4.0 3PG), and Daniel Saylor has anchored the Charger defense with 2.2 blocks per game down low which ranks him first in the conference. 

Blue Mountain visits Huntsville with a 4-6 record overall, with their most recent result being a 67-63 loss to Central Baptist College on Tuesday. The Toppers and Chargers share one common opponent in Point, a team that UAH defeated 89-62, while Blue Mountain dropped a game against the Skyhawks 83-58. 

Jason Hunt leads the Toppers in scoring this season, averaging 19.6 points per game on 45.8 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three. He is aided offensively by Bryan Maxey who is averaging 2.8 assists per game to lead BMC. 

Following Monday's game, the Chargers host Valdosta State on Saturday before a matchup with West Florida next Monday.
