No. 13 Men's Basketball Looks to Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play Before Holiday Break

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 13 UAH men's basketball team is hosting a duo of Gulf South Conference home games on Thursday and Saturday as they host Mississippi College on Thursday at 7:30 pm and Delta State on Saturday at 4 pm.

UAH returns to action after a 82-62 victory over Lee on Saturday to move their winning streak to nine games. The win marked the fourth consecutive game that UAH has scored over 80 points this season The Blue & White have won eight of their last 10 games against the Flames and two straight. 

UAH is first in the GSC in three point percentage at 41.4 percent on the year, while also holding the top spot in three pointers made per game at 11.5. The Chargers also top the league in rebounding, as they have hauled in 40.6 rebounds per game as a team.

Tommy Murr is coming off of a 23 point, eight rebound, and five assist performance against Lee and remains the scoring leader in the conference at 21.9 points per game. The Athens, Alabama, native is also top of the league in three point percentage, converting 51.1 percent of his three point shots thus far on 23-of-45 shooting. 

Blake Campbell headlines the GSC in assist-to-turnover ratio while hauling in 5.4 rebounds per game and ranking inside the top 15 in scoring in the league. The graduate transfer has posted 15 points per game in his lone season with the Chargers. 
 
Mississippi College and Delta State travel to Huntsville each with 6-4 (2-2 GSC) records. MC is coming off of a home split in which they dropped a game to Montevallo 70-58 and defeated Auburn Montgomery 70-62. The Choctaws allow the second fewest points per game in the GSC at 70 points per game. 
 
Delta State enters the weekend after a home split as they dropped an 89-81 game against Montevallo and defeated AUM 92-80. The Statesmen rank fifth in scoring in the GSC at 82.5 points per game and the highest turnover margin in the league as they have forced over 200 turnovers this season.
 
UAH holds all-time series records of 16-7 against MC and 27-23 against DSU.
 
After Saturday's matchup, the Chargers will have their holiday break before picking up action again on January 2 against Union.
