Men's Lacrosse Set for Home Opener Against No. 9 UIndy

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team opens the 2024 campaign at Charger Park on Friday at 4 p.m. with a non-conference tilt against No. 9 Indianapolis.

Admission to all regular season home games at Charger Park is free again this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers are coming off a 2023 campaign that ended in the Peach Belt Conference semifinals. UAH went 10-7 with a 2-3 record in conference play.
 
UAH was recently voted fourth in the PBC Preseason Coaches' poll ahead of head coach Mark Frey's debut season at the helm as the Chargers return two Preseason All-PBC honorees in Pete Fabrizio and Collin Galinski.
 
The UAH offense returns five double-digit goal scorers from last season, including Fabrizio (33g, 20a), Ian Arnt (28g, 9a), Bryce Ferraro (11g, 5a), Kyle Light (11g, 4a), and Greyson Stevens (10g, 13a).
 
The Chargers defense returns Max Keller who started 13 matches between the pipes along with Will Kastel who caused 28 turnovers last season in addition to Galinski with 29 caused turnovers.

The Chargers are 0-3 all-time against the Greyhounds, as Indianapolis visits the Rocket City for the second time in men's lacrosse.
 
UIndy is coming off of a 12-4 overall record and a 5-0 mark in Great Lakes Valley Conference play in the 2023 campaign. The Greyhounds return a top offensive performer from last season in Triston Schaffer who posted 57 points on 32 goals and 51 assists. They additionally return their primary goalkeeper KC Carlson who recorded an 9.65 goals against average and .492 save percentage.
 
After this Friday's matchup, UAH looks ahead to a Saturday matchup next weekend against Lincoln Memorial at Charger Park.
