HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team caps off its 2023-24 regular season home schedule with Gulf South Conference games at Spragins Hall on Thursday against Union at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday versus Christian Brothers at 4 p.m.

UAH is celebrating both 4.0 Night and NCAA Division II Day as part of Thursday's contests, with Charger student-athletes that achieved a 4.0 in the last year being honored at halftime of the men's game.

The Chargers have earned a berth to the 2024 Gulf South Conference Men's Basketball Championships as the team is currently 15-9 overall and 13-7 in GSC games to start the week. UAH is currently in a three-way tie for third in the conference standings, with the top four teams hosting the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, March 5.

UAH's offense is averaging 79.4 points per game in the 2023-24 campaign to rank fourth in the league entering the week, as the squad is led by
Luke Burnett (16.0 PPG) and
Tommy Murr (15.9 PPG) who are both in the top 15 in scoring in the conference.

Jack Kostel has been a strong all-around player for the Chargers this season, ranking in the top 25 in the GSC with 5.7 rebounds per game, 4.0 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game and 30.3 minutes per game while rating second on the team with 11.1 points per game.

Union starts out the week with a 12-12 overall record and a 9-11 mark in GSC play, following an 81-66 win over Montevallo at home on Saturday. The Bulldogs average 78.1 points per game, led by Ahmad Johnson at 16.9 points per game.

Christian Brothers is one of the two other teams tied for third in the GSC standings with UAH, as the Buccaneers are 15-8 overall and 13-7 in GSC play. CBU's offense averages 79.6 points per contest, led by Anias Futrell at 18.1 points per game.

UAH holds all-time series records of 20-5 against Union and 33-9 against Christian Brothers.

After Saturday's regular season home finale, the Chargers hit the road to West Florida next Thursday and Valdosta State next Saturday.
