5/28/2024 3:07:00 PM

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville track & field team garnered five USTFCCCA All-America selections across three events following the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

A native of Knob Noster, Mo., Sam Wilhelm capped off his impressive 2023-24 season as he earned Outdoor All-American in both 10,000 meters and 5,000 meters for the first time in his career in each event.

The Chargers 4x100 meters relay team of Wilson McClain, Michael Gizzi, Tommy Rodriguez, and Ke'Andre Campbell grabbed First Team All-American status with a seventh-place finish in the relay race at Outdoor Nationals.

The quartet becomes UAH's first All-Americans in the 4x100 meters relay since Elijah Dryer, Ojay Gibson, Trevian Jenkins, and Rashaad Pollard in 2018.

Student-athletes earned First-Team USTFCCCA All-American honors by virtue of finishing among the top-eight in their respective events – including as a member of a relay team – at the 2024 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Emporia, Kansas.

Second-team selections were given to those athletes who finished in spots Nos. 9-12 in individual events. Ninth and tenth-place relay teams also earned the distinction.
