No. 4 Men's Basketball Welcomes Lee and Trevecca for Pair of GSC Home Matchups

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 4 UAH men's basketball team is hosting a pair of Gulf South Conference opponents this week as they welcome in Lee on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday at 4 p.m.
 
UAH Athletics is hosting a sock drive with the National Children's Advocacy Center for Thursday night's game. Fans wishing to donate may bring new socks to the donation table in the Spragins Hall front lobby.
 
General admission to all UAH men's basketball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Bentley Automotive. Reserved seating is additionally available for purchase online through HomeTown Ticketing.

The Chargers return to action after a 97-95 overtime victory on Monday evening against No. 11 Valdosta State. The Blue & White are winners of 18 straight games with an 18-1 overall record and a 13-0 mark in GSC play. 
 
Mick Hedgepeth's squad enters the weekend with the second-best scoring offense (88.8 PPG) in the league and the third-best scoring defense (71.9 PPG). The Chargers also rank first in team three point percentage at 38.8 percent. 
 
Four different Chargers rank inside the top 20 in the GSC in points per game this season, with Tommy Murr leading the way in fifth at 19.3 points per game. Murr has scored double-digit points in 26 consecutive games 

Luke Burnett is 10th in the GSC in points per game (17.1 PPG), Blake Campbell is 12th (16.2 PPG), and Daniel Saylor ranks 19th (13.1 PPG).
 
Saylor also ranks second in the league in rebounds per game this year as he has hauled in 9.4 boards per game to go along with a conference-leading 2.5 blocks per game. 

Lee visits Spragins Hall with the top scoring defense in the conference, allowing just 68.9 points per game. The Flames are 8-9 (4-9 GSC) this season and the Chargers won the last matchup against Lee 82-62 on the road. 

Trevecca comes to Huntsville as the third-ranked team in the GSC with a 14-5 (9-4 GSC) record. They boast the third-highest point per game total in the conference at 84.5 points per game and the second-best team field goal percentage at 47.9 percent.

In their last matchup, the Chargers defeated the Trojans 88-83 on the road.

Following this week's games, UAH will head on the road to face off with Delta State and Mississippi College next week.
