BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced their volleyball player of the week awards on Tuesday and UAH senior Zoe Smith earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Carlee Lowry was named GSC Freshman of the Week. 

Smith had a team-high 34 kills in two matches in 3-1 victories over No. 16 West Florida and Valdosta State over the weekend along with 38 total digs in a pair of all-around performances. Against the Blazers she had a team-leading 20 kills. 

Lowry earned Freshman of the Week honors with a 19 kill weekend, including 13 kills against West Florida along with 30 digs in two matches. The freshman from Chattanooga, Tennessee, hit an impressive .275 attack percentage against the Argos. 

The Chargers play host to West Alabama at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall on Wednesday, November 5 at 6 p.m.
