BIRMINGHAM | The Gulf South Conference announced their baseball weekly awards, presented by Truist, for the second week of the regular season on Tuesday and UAH senior
Presley Walker was named the GSC Player of the Week.
He is the first Charger baseball player to earn player of the week honors since
Carson Villalta earned the honor in the final week of the 2024 baseball season. Â
For the week, Walker posted a .588 batting average and had 10 hits as he scored eight runs. He additionally had five extra-base hits with three doubles, a triple, and a home run. In the four-game sweep of UMSL, the senior from Gardendale, Alabama, had multi-hit performances in three out of four games, and went 9-for-14 against the Tritons.Â
Walker is currently on a six-game hitting streak and ranks eighth in the GSC in batting average, third in runs scored, and leads the league in doubles with four.Â
