Baseball Hosts Auburn Montgomery in Weekend Series

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team welcomes Auburn Montgomery for a three-game Gulf South Conference home series at Charger Park with a single game on Friday at 3 p.m. and a Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon. 
 
Admission to all UAH baseball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers are returning to action after winning a midweek matchup against UT Southern on Tuesday. UAH currently sits at 12-13 overall and 5-10 in GSC play, while AUM enters the series at 7-20 (4-11 GSC).

The Blue & White have scored five or more runs in six of their last seven games and surpassed double-digits in scoring four times in their last six games. 

JC Wilburn leads the Chargers in batting average this season at .393 and holds the highest on-base percentage at .478. Additionally, he has five home runs and 19 RBI this season, good for second on the team in both categories.

Cory Hagood made his first start of the season last weekend in the series finale against West Florida. The senior holds a 4.82 ERA this season with 18.2 innings pitched. The .Madison, Alabama, native has struck out 16 opposing batters this season. 

The Warhawks visit Huntsville on a 10-game slide, most recently dropping a 7-0 game against Shorter on Tuesday. Tyrese Rooks leads AUM at the plate with a .371 batting average, six doubles, two triples, and three home runs on the season. 

Clay Slagle headlines the AUM pitching staff with 35 innings pitched in seven starts this season. He has struck out 35 batters and holds a 5.66 ERA.

Following the home weekend, UAH is set to travel to Atlanta to face off with Morehouse on Wednesday in a midweek matchup.
