Men's Basketball Prepared for Seventh Straight GSC Tournament Semifinal in Birmingham on Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 3 UAH men's basketball team will head to Birmingham for the semifinals of the 2025 Truist Gulf South Conference Men's Basketball Championship Saturday at the Pete Hanna Center as they will take on fifth-seeded Delta State at 5 p.m.

The winner of Saturday's game moves on to play in the GSC tournament championship game on Sunday at 3 p.m. against the winner of No. 2 seed Valdosta State and No. 3 seed Montevallo. More information on the 2025 Truist GSC Men's Basketball Championships.

UAH Athletics is hosting a watch party at Back Forty Beer Company on Leeman Ferry Road for both games on Saturday, with the women's game tipping off at 2:15 p.m. prior to the men's semifinal matchup.

The top-seeded Chargers are coming off of a 86-67 victory over No. 8 seed Lee on Tuesday night and currently hold a nation-leading 28 straight wins. In Tuesday's matchup, the Chargers trailed by one at the half, but went on to outscore the Flames 51–to-31 in the second half.  
 
The Blue & White hold the third-highest field goal percentage in all of NCAA Division II at 52.42 percent and the sixth-highest scoring margin in the country at +15.3 points per game. The Chargers hold a 1.52 assist-to-turnover ratio, which ranks them 14th in D-II.

Tommy Murr leads D-II in free throw percentage with a 93.75 percent mark at the line. He ranks 24th in the country with 21.0 points per game. The Athens, Alabama, native scored 26 points at 10-for-18 from the field and 4-for-5 from three in the Chargers win over Lee.

Blake Campbell had a double-double against the Flames on Tuesday as he totaled 16 points and 10 rebounds with four assists. The Cleveland, Tennessee, native is the second-leading scorer for the Chargers this season at 15.8 points per game. 

Delta State is looking to break through in their third matchup against UAH after defeating Trevecca Nazarene for the first time this season on Tuesday. The Statesmen are 17-12 on the year. 

Chris Terrell highlights the Statesmen as the third-leading scorer in the GSC at 21.1 points per game. The senior also leads the nation and the GSC in steals per game at 3.5 and has swiped the ball on 102 occasions.

The Chargers are 29-23 all-time against Delta State and have won two in a row against the Statesmen and 11 of the last 13 matchups. The last time UAH and Delta State met in the postseason was a 64-60 loss by the Chargers in the title game. 

This is the men's basketball program's seventh consecutive semifinal appearance in the GSC Tournament and their 16th overall.
