Baseball Hosts West Alabama for Senior Weekend at Charger Park

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team will play out their final series of the season this weekend as they play host to Gulf South Conference opponent West Alabama at Charger Park on Friday beginning at noon and Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

The weekend series will also mark senior weekend for the Chargers as 15 seniors play out their final games at Charger Park. The Senior Day ceremony will take place prior to Saturday's game. 

Admission to all UAH baseball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers most recently dropped a series against Trevecca Nazarene and enter their final series with a 19-26 (9-21 GSC) record. 

UAH is currently tied for second in the league for runs scored this season with 341 runs, while the pitching staff holds the second-highest GSC strikeout total for the 2025 campaign. 

At the plate, the Chargers are led by JC Wilburn who holds a .366 batting average with six home runs and 33 RBI. Brock Butler has the highest home run total for the Blue & White with 16 homers this year and ranks second in the conference.

Cory Hagood has the best ERA in the Charger pitching staff with a 6.15 ERA in 45.1 innings pitched. The senior holds a 4-2 record with four saves this season. Colin Patterson has struck out a team-high 69 opposing batters in 61.1 innings pitched on the mound.

West Alabama visits Huntsville after a weekend sweep of Lee and holds a 24-22 record (15-15 GSC). 

The Tigers are led at the plate by Joe Watkins with a .316 batting average with 11 doubles, a triple, and 10 home runs on the season with 35 RBI. 

On the mound, Bryant Quimby leads the West Alabama pitching staff with a 2.70 ERA in 12 starts with three complete games on the year. He has pitched 70 innings and struck out 61 batters. 

This weekend's games will mark the end of the season for the UAH baseball team.
