BIRMINGHAM | The Gulf South Conference announced their baseball weekly awards on Tuesday morning and UAH senior Brock Butler was named the GSC Player of the Week.

Butler has earned Player of the Week twice this season and is the fourth Charger baseball player to earn weekly honors this season as Sean Lapinskes earned Freshman of the Week and Presley Walker garnered Player of the Week plaudits earlier this season.

For the week, Butler posted a 1.800 slugging percentage had a 9-for-15 performance in five games. The Meridian, Mississippi, native hit five home runs and ran up 10 RBI as he crossed the plate 13 times. 

Butler is currently tied for first in the GSC in home runs with 15 this season, along with the third-highest RBI total in the league with 47. 

The Chargers play on Tuesday afternoon in a midweek matchup against UT Southern at Charger Park.
