HUNTSVILLE | UAH women's lacrosse coach
Akasha Kasper has announced the hiring of
Alyssa Suchan as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Suchan joins the Chargers after spending six seasons at Lander University—five as a player and one as the Graduate Assistant Coach for the Bearcats. A standout lacrosse coach and record-breaking NCAA Division II athlete, Suchan is an emerging leader in player development and recruitment.
Before transitioning into coaching, Suchan was the first-ever commitment to Lander's women's lacrosse program, serving as a five-year team captain from 2019 to 2024. She helped lead the program from its inception to national ranking status. During her collegiate career, she set multiple program records.
As a Graduate Assistant Coach at Lander, the team posted a 13–4 record during the 2025 season, with three wins over nationally ranked opponents, nine consecutive weeks in the national rankings, and earned its first-ever NCAA Regional Ranking.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and completed her MBA at Lander University.
