HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team is preparing for a pair of Gulf South Conference opponents this weekend as they will host Valdosta State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and West Florida on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The matchup with the Argos was moved up one day due to incoming inclement weather across the Southeast.
The Chargers come into the weekend with a 12-5 (7-4 GSC) record, while Valdosta State comes in at 11-6 (6-5 GSC) and West Florida at 15-4 (8-3 GSC).
UAH ranks in the top five in offense and defense this season as they have scored 84.7 points per game while holding opponents to 72.2 points per game.
Quentin Toles leads the Chargers in scoring so far, averaging 16.4 points per game.
Thomas Allard has a 48.5 percent field goal percentage to lead the squad in efficiency, which ranks him fifth in the conference.
In their last matchup with Valdosta State, the Chargers fell 93-91 to the Blazers.
Rayven Turner led the way with 15 points against the Blazers.
Against West Florida, the Blue & White snagged a 87-80 road victory as Toles put up 22 points and seven rebounds.
Following the weekend's games, UAH will head on the road for matchups with Lee and Trevecca Nazarene next weekend.
