HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Baseball will host the Carson–Newman Eagles in a midweek non-conference matchup at Charger Park on Tuesday, with first pitch now scheduled for noon CT.
The game was originally scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., but the start time has been moved up two hours. Admission to all regular season home games at Charger Park is free this season courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.
UAH enters the contest with a 4-5 record following a three-game sweep of Christian Brothers to open Gulf South Conference play. The Chargers' offense erupted for 33 runs over the weekend, the team's highest-scoring three-game stretch of the season, while the pitching staff allowed just six runs, their best defensive performance over a three-game span this year.
Senior Caleb Mahan has led the Chargers at the plate, batting .480 with a 1.112 OPS and a team-high seven RBIs. Freshman Seth Staggs has also made an immediate impact, hitting .500 with a 1.196 OPS. CJ Carson has provided consistency at the top of the lineup, leading the team with five stolen bases and pacing the Gulf South Conference with 14 walks.
Carson–Newman enters the game with a 7-2 record and sits just outside the Division II Top 25 rankings. Logan Floyd leads the Eagles offensively, batting .481 with a 1.440 OPS, including 11 RBIs, five doubles, a triple, and a home run. Bradley Soto Diaz has also contributed significantly, hitting .464 with a 1.071 OPS, seven RBIs, and four stolen bases.
