BIRMINGHAM – UAH senior Oli Orzechowski has earned the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week honors after a 1-0 week to help take the Chargers to 3-0 on the season.
The Chargers' forward recorded his second multi-goal performance of the early season with two in a 2-0 win at Georgia Southwestern while recording four points. He finished the match with six shots, four of which came on goal.
Orzechowski's performance also provided his second game-winning goal of the season.
Through the early portion of the season, the senior leads the GSC in average shots with 5.33, shots of goal with 10, goals per game with 1.33, game-winning goals per game with 0.67 and points per game with 2.67. In three matches, Orzechowski has scored four goals with 16 total shots and 10 on goal.
The Chargers' second match of the previous week against Tuskegee was canceled due to weather conditions. UAH will be in action again on Friday at 8:30 p.m. at West Alabama as the team begins conference play.
