HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Returning to the pitch for the first time in nearly two weeks, the UAH men's soccer team is set to travel to Covenant (Ga.) for a 7 p.m. match Saturday. UAH owns a 4-3 mark on the season while Covenant sits at 2-4-2.
The Chargers were scheduled to play at Saint Leo this past Sunday but the match was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The last time UAH played, the Blue and White fell 6-2 at North Georgia. In that contest,
Ragnar Gunnarsson tallied the two goals to move into fourth on the squad in scoring with nine points as he sits behind
Kyle Simmons,
Felix Hjalmarsson and
Mitch Wilson.
Simmons continues to lead the Gulf South Conference in scoring despite the length of time since UAH's last match as his 15 points (seven goals, one assist) is two points better than Jose Ferraz of Christian Brothers who has notched 13.
The Scots' two victories have come at home where they have not lost, including a 4-0 victory over Tennessee Temple on Tuesday.
Tyler Morrison leads the way for Saturday's hosts with two goals and an assist for a team-best five points. Ian Meredith and Hunter Harrison both sit in second with four points on the strength of two goals.
Live stats for the contest will be available at athletics.covenant.edu, and fans are encouraged to follow the Chargers on Twitter (@uahchargers).
