HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A top-15 battle is on tap for Sunday at Spragins Hall as the No. 15 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team will host No. 11 Christian Brothers for a 4 p.m. showdown. The Chargers enter the game at 13-3 (4-1 Gulf South Conference) while CBU visits with a 15-2 (5-0 GSC) mark as first place in the conference is also on the line.

General admission tickets to the important contest will be available for free to anyone who brings a church bulletin to the game.

Sunday's game could also see history made as senior
Josh Magette goes into the day needing just three assists to break the Gulf South Conference record for assists in a career as he owns 735 helpers during his time thus far in Huntsville.

Sonny Charpentier who played at Nichols State from 1975-79 set the benchmark with 737 assists during his career.

Behind the strength of Magette's strong performance this season, the Chargers rank fifth in the country in assists per game while also ranking in the top-10 nationally in the following categories: assist/turnover ratio (sixth), field goal percentage (seventh), and fewest personal fouls per game (ninth).

Magette is the leader among all Division II players with 9.5 assists per contest, while
Jaime Smith is the country's fourth-best 3-point shooter as he connects on nearly 52 percent of his tries from long-range. With a 63.3 percent success rate from the floor,
Zane Campbell ranks ninth in the nation in field goal percentage.

Four scored in double figures as the Chargers picked up their first road win in league play, defeating Delta State by an 84-66 score on Thursday as Smith led the way for the Blue and White with 24 points. The team was impressive in the first half, shooting nearly 70 percent, and for the contest the Chargers were perfect at the charity stripe as they made all 16 attempts.

No. 11 Christian Brothers travels to Huntsville on a 10-game winning streak as it boasts a 14-2 record while being a perfect 5-0 in conference play.  Zack Warner leads his squad with 18.2 points per game, and Scott Dennis adds 15.2 points per contest while also grabbing nearly 10 rebounds per game.

Dennis ranks eighth in the country with eight double-doubles, and he is one of just two players in Division II to have recorded a triple-double this season when he totaled 17 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in a game earlier this season against West Georgia in Memphis.

This marks the 15th meeting between the two programs as UAH holds a 10-4 record in the series. The Chargers took the lone meeting last year - a 69-61 decision at Spragins Hall. Christian Brothers has never won in five trips to the Rocket City.
