LIVE STATS | LIVE AUDIO | LIVE VIDEO
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Fresh off a victory to begin its 2011-12 Gulf South Conference slate, the No. 13 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team will continue GSC play on the road Saturday when it travels to Carrollton, Ga., to take on No. 25 West Georgia. Tip-off between the Chargers (9-2, 1-0 GSC) and UWG (13-2, 0-1 GSC) is scheduled for 3 p.m. CST.

UAH will be looking to extend its season-long win streak to six games as the Chargers have reeled off five straight.

The Blue and White led throughout in defeating West Alabama on Thursday night to start league action. Zane Campbell paced the Chargers with 17 points in the contest, while Josh Magette turned in an impressive double-double – his fourth of the season – as he collected 12 points and 13 assists.

Becoming the 21st player in school history to reach the benchmark, Jaime Smith collected 12 points against UWA as well to move over 1,000 career points, and he currently sits on top of the UAH offensive ledger as he averages nearly 18 points per game.

The series history between the two squads is an even one as both teams have collected 20 wins.

A season ago, the Chargers suffered their lone GSC loss at The Coliseum, falling 77-69 as the Wolves were able to limit UAH to shoot just 36.1 percent from the floor. Despite the shooting woes, Campbell was impressive in the road contest as he scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and in the meeting between the two squads in Huntsville last season, Magette scored a game-best 15 and dished out 11 assists in helping the Chargers to a 72-58 victory.

UAH's last win in Carrollton came during the 2009-10 season when the Chargers knocked off the Wolves by a 74-56 score.

The Wolves started out GSC play with a loss at home to North Alabama on Thursday, falling 81-78.

Gavin Field led the squad with 21 points while Da'Ron Sims chipped in with 17, and the pair lead the Wolves on the season offensively as Sims is averaging 17.6 points – to go along with 7.1 rebounds per game – while Field scores 15.5 points per game.
