HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Returning home for the first time since Dec. 4, the No. 13 UAH men's basketball team is set to host Oakland City at a special start time of 3 p.m. Monday afternoon at Spragins Hall. The Chargers enter the game at 9-3 while Oakland City comes to town with a 10-4 mark on the season.

Despite a performance that included all five starters scoring in double figures, the Chargers were unable to get past West Georgia on the road Saturday, falling 82-79 in overtime to move to 1-1 in Gulf South Conference play.

Jaime Smith led the Chargers with 24 points, including a stretch of three consecutive treys that helped his team erase what was a 16-point deficit in the first half, but turnovers proved to be the undoing for UAH in the affair as the team gave it away 24 times compared to just 10 miscues for the Wolves.

With the loss, the Chargers will be looking to avoid consecutive setbacks, something that has not happened to the Blue and White since the end of the 2009-10 season.

Offensively, UAH is outscoring its opponents by nearly 10 points a game as it is averaging almost 80 points per contest, and the team has registered a field goal percentage of 51.3 on the season compared to just 43.2 percent for the opposition.

Three of the team's starters shoot better than 50 percent from the floor, led by Zane Campbell's 61.3 success rate, and Smith - who has nailed 52.1 percent of his shots from downtown - paces the squad with 17.9 points per game.

Oakland City enters Monday's matinee on a six-game win streak, and the squad has scored more than 100 points its last three times out. Tops on a team that averages nearly 87 points per game, Oakland City is led by Mitch Stahl's 17.4 scoring average, and he is also the team's leading rebounder as he has grabbed 5.7 boards per contest.

The all-time series is tilted towards UAH by a 19-7 margin, and the Chargers have won the last seven meetings including an 81-58 decision at Spragins Hall a year ago.
