Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – With a dominating victory, the sixth-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team picked up its 20th win of the season on Thursday night, blowing past visiting Delta State by a 96-53 score at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The triumph pushes the Chargers to 20-3 (11-1 Gulf South Conference), and Delta State falls to 5-17 (1-11 GSC).
Jaime Smith was again on fire as he finished 8-for-11 from the floor – including sinking all three of his attempts from beyond the arc – en route to scoring a game-best 23 points, while freshman
Ronnie Mack scored a career-best 20 points as he hit six of his nine attempts from long-range.
Adding nine more helpers,
Josh Magette moved past the 800-assist plateau as he now owns 803 for his career which moves him into ninth all-time in Division II history.
The Chargers roared out of the gates as they scored the game's first 16 points, and the team shot 60.7 percent from the field in the opening period in building up a 54-26 advantage at the halftime break.
The second half was more of the same as UAH outscored the Statesmen 42-27 in the period to secure the big victory.
Joining Smith and Mack in double figures were three other Chargers led by Magette's 11. In addition to the nine assists, Magette grabbed seven rebounds and picked up five steals.

Conner Blasi chipped in with 10.
For the game, UAH shot 50.8 percent and connected on 13-of-24 3-pointers to shoot 54.2 percent from long-range. The Chargers limited the visitors to just a field goal percentage of 31.8 including a 2-for-15 showing from downtown.
The Blue and White will now turn their attention to its biggest game of the season as the team travels to Christian Brothers for a game that will go a long way in determining the regular season GSC champion and the top seed in the GSC tournament. The contest is slated for 4 p.m. in Memphis.
