HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Seeking revenge for its lone setback in conference play, the No. 6 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team is set to host No. 19 West Georgia on Saturday – the second time in three home games that the Chargers will host a nationally-ranked opponent. UAH owns a 16-3 (7-1 Gulf South Conference) mark on the season, UWG visits with a record of 18-4 (5-3 GSC).

Tip at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall is set for 7 p.m.

Their last time out, the Chargers pushed their season-best winning streak to seven with a 68-55 home win over West Alabama. Jaime Smith paced UAH with 14 points, while Srdjan Boskovic notched 13 points and 10 rebounds for the first double-double of his career.

With a perfect 8-for-8 showing at the line in the victory, Smith sits tops in the league in free throw percentage, connecting on 87 of his 100 attempts. Teammate Josh Magette ranks second with a free throw percentage of 86.0 percent.

As a team at the charity stripe, UAH ranks second in the GSC and 10th in the country with a 76.5 percent performance on the season.

The first time these teams met, the Blue and White held a 3-point lead late, but the Wolves were able to tie up the affair with a trey in the final seconds to force overtime. The hosts controlled the extra period to win 82-78.

With the triumph, West Georgia grabbed a 21-20 lead in the all-time series. Last year the home team won in both contests.

Since that victory, UWG has won four of six with one of their setbacks at nationally-ranked Christian Brothers. The other defeat was Thursday night at North Alabama – a team that had defeated the Wolves just prior to the previous contest between UAH and the visitors from Carrollton, Ga.

The GSC's leader in scoring, Da'Ron Sims leads West Georgia with a scoring average of 19 points per game while also leading the way with 6.8 rebounds per contest.

He scored a game-high 27 points against UAH, while Smith paced the Chargers with 24 points as all five starters tallied in double figures on the night.
