HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –
The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team is set to continue play in the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday as the Chargers (29-3) will face Bellarmine (28-3) in the national quarterfinals on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. CDT at the Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.

Live video for the contest will be available at ncaa.com with a link available on Wednesday.

The Chargers are making their second-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight after capturing the NCAA South Regional title for the second year in a row. Capturing three more wins, UAH has matched its highest number of wins in an NCAA season (last year's team also won 29 games), and the team is riding a program-best 20-game winning streak.

Sophomore Conner Blasi was strong in the regional, shooting over 70 percent from the floor en route to scoring 10.7 points per game, but he was just one of four members of the Blue and White to average double figures. Jaime Smith led the group with 14.7 points per game while Josh Magette chipped in with 12.7 and Srdjan Boskovic added 11.7 points per contest.

A 68-59 victory over Christian Brothers produced the team's second-straight regional championship as the Chargers defeated CBU for the fourth time this season - two of which were in tournament championship games and a third that decided the regular season GSC title.

Xavier Baldwin led UAH with 13 points while three others notched double figures in scoring including Boskovic who recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The victory marked the 400th in Lennie Acuff's decorated coaching career.

Bellarmine outlasted Kentucky Wesleyan 79-74, putting the defending national champions back into the Elite Eight as winners of the Midwest Regional.

All five of the squad's probable starters average double figures led by Jeremy Kendle's 19.2 points per game. The Knights shoot the ball well, registering a field goal percentage of 54.5 percent on the season, and they also are strong from beyond the arc, connecting on 41.1 percent of their attempts from 3-point land.

The two teams have met three times before with the Chargers holding a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series. The last meeting came in the 2005-06 season when the Blue and White captured a 62-50 decision.

The winner of the contest will advance to the semifinals which will take place at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night and will be televised on CBS Sports Network HD.
