HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – After completing a perfect three-game road trip, the No. 9 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team will host Valdosta State at Kelly Court at Spraings Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers go into the game with a 16-3 (9-2 Gulf South Conference) record, while VSU owns a mark of 13-6 (5-5 GSC).

The Chargers will be looking to maintain the strong play that produced the three straight road victories as they aim to snap a two-game slide on their home floor. In the two setbacks, UAH shot just 34.5 percent – well off the season average of 46.6 percent.
UAH also connected on only 30.9 percent of its attempts from long range, but the team still ranks as the fourth-best team in the country with 10.4 made 3-pointers per game. Also,
Ronnie Mack continues to lead the nation with a blistering 3-point field goal percentage of 52.6 percent.
The contest in Valdosta between the two programs was an exciting affair that was capped by an
Xavier Baldwin 3-pointer near the buzzer the provided the Chargers with a 79-77 victory. Baldwin was one of four UAH players that scored in double figures in the contest, led by
Jaime Smith who notched 28 as he hit four 3-pointers.
Patrick Diop – a two-time GSC Player of the Week this season – paced the Blazers with 24 points.
The Blazers – who have five players that average double figures – had won three consecutive games before falling by the slimmest of margins to North Alabama 74-73 this past Saturday. James Anacreon scored 22 points while grabbing 11 rebounds in the setback.
