LIVE STATS | LIVE AUDIO | LIVE VIDEO
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Already crowned regular season champions of the Gulf South Conference, the No. 6 University of Alabama in Huntsville will welcome Shorter for a 7 p.m. showdown at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Saturday. The Chargers own a record of 21-4 (14-3 GSC) while Shorter comes into the contest at 15-10 (9-8 GSC).

The contest marks the final regular season home game for seniors Xavier Baldwin, Zane Campbell, Jaime Smith and Brett Wester. In the group's four seasons, the quartet has scored 4,221 points while picking up 102 wins. The Chargers have captured four consecutive regular season Gulf South Conference titles, and the team has also earned two consecutive berths to the Elite Eight.

As of now, the journey back to a third Elite Eight appearance could be more difficult.

UAH has enjoyed home-court advantage at the NCAA South Regional the past two seasons, but the Chargers slipped to third in the latest regional rankings despite winning twice. Florida Southern held the top spot in the first installment, and though the Mocs lost twice, they remained ahead of UAH in second. Saint Leo took over the top spot, though it did lose to Eckerd on Wednesday after the rankings were released.

Smith took home the fourth GSC Player of the Week honor of his career on Tuesday after he averaged 26 points and 5.5 assists in the team's two wins last week. Smith has been stellar of late, scoring 85 points in the team's last three games. For the season, he ranks third in the GSC with a scoring average of 18 points per game.

When the Chargers travelled to Rome earlier in the season to face Shorter, UAH left with an 80-69 victory. Four UAH players scored in double figures led by Ronnie Mack who hit four 3-pointers en route to scoring 18 points. Campbell notched a double-double in the contest as he scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Shorter enters today's contest having lost five of its last six games and the team is 5-7 on the road this season. Walter Hill's 15.4 points per game leads the squad.

Live stats and video will be available at uahchargers.com, and the game will be heard throughout the Tennessee Valley on 97.7 The Zone.
