About the Chargers
GAME NOTES
•The Chargers continue the road-swing with visits to Christian Brothers and Delta State this week.
•Prior to last week, the Chargers had been winless on the road, but the team knocked off Union and North Alabama last week to extend its current win streak to four games while earning its first two road victories.
•The win streak coincides with the insertion of freshman Seab Webster into the starting lineup as the Gurley, Ala., native has now started five straight for UAH.
•Dedrick paced the team in the win at UNA, scoring a career-best 36 points on the strength of five 3-pointers.
•With the four straight wins coming in conference play, UAH finds itself alone in third place at the schedule moves into the second half of action. Delta State owns the top position with a league record of 9-1, while West Alabama sits in second at 7-3. Behind UAH in a tie for fourth are Christian Brothers, Valdosta State, Union, and Shorter as they all own 5-5 marks.
•UAH was shooting under 40 percent from the field in away games until shooting better than 55 percent against UNA on Saturday. That performance boosted the team's road shooting percentage to 42.4 percent.
•Conner Blasi continues to lead UAH in shooting on the road among those who are averaging at least 15 minutes per game as he shoots at a 52.3 percent clip to score 10.2 points per road game while also grabbing a team-best 5.3 rebounds per contest away from Huntsville.
About the Opponents
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
•The Bucs have dropped two of three, but prior to that the team had won four in a row. At home this season, CBU is 7-2.
•With 18.1 points per game, Trey Cassey leads the way for Christian Brothers. He featured a particularly strong stretch in the middle of the month when he scored 32 against Union on Jan. 16 before dropping 31 on UNA on Jan. 18.
•CBU ranks second in the league -- just behind UAH -- with 15.8 assists per game, and the team boasts a league-best assist/turnover ratio of 1.4.
DELTA STATE
•Delta State's 86-82 overtime win in Huntsville on Dec. 21 started what is now an eight-game winning streak, propelling Delta State to the top of the GSC standings and to a No. 15 ranking nationally.
•Leading Delta State -- and the GSC -- offensively is Willie Readus who is scoring 20.1 points per game, and he is averaging a double-double as he also collects 10.8 rebounds per night.
•The Statesmen are outscoring their opponents by more than 10 points, scoring 74.8 per night while allowing only 69.4 per game.
Series History
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
•After winning 81-77 earlier this season in Huntsville, UAH now leads the all-time series 17-5.
•Christian Brothers won last year's meeting in Memphis, however, claiming a 55-48 decision. Ronnie Mack scored 10 to represent the only Charger in double figures.
DELTA STATE
•With its 86-82 victory in overtime at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Dec. 21, Delta State now owns a 16-11 edge in the all-time series.
•A year ago in Cleveland, Miss., Jaime Smith scored with 12 seconds left to produce a 73-71 victory for the Chargers. Smith scored 33 while teammate Zane Campbell poured in 20, and Wayne Dedrick rounded out the double-figure scorers with 13.
