Box Score ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team travelled to Shorter on Thursday evening and dropped a 67-65 decision in Gulf South Conference action. The setback drops the Chargers to 6-7 (2-4 GSC), while the Hawks improve to 5-7 (2-4 GSC).

UAH led through much of the contest, but a 17-5 run over seven minutes late in the second half provided Shorter with a 65-58 lead with just under a minute left in the game.

Shorter then only converted two free throws and
Ronnie Mack hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final minute to narrow the gap, but time ran out on the furious comeback effort for UAH who has dropped four straight – three of which have been by four points or less.

The Chargers were led by Mack who hit three of the team's nine 3-pointers to score 14, and
Wayne Dedrick matched that performance with 14 as 10 of his points came in the first half as the Chargers built up a 31-22 advantage at the halftime break – the largest lead that UAH would own on the night.

Greg Gardner joined the pair in double figures with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.

UAH shot only 34.5 percent for the contest, while Shorter connected on 44.2 percent of its attempts and was led by Dedric Ware who scored a game-best 19 points. The hosts also outrebounded UAH on the night by a 38-35 clip.

The Chargers will now aim to snap the four-game slide when they return home to welcome West Georgia on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.
