Live Stats: uahchargers.comTOURNAMENT OPENER: The Chargers finished the season in third in the Gulf South Conference, earning the right to host Delta State who garnered the tournament's sixth seed. UAH posted a 12-4-1 record on the season as the team has recorded at least 10 wins in consecutive seasons for the first time since the 1997 and 1998 years.

NEW FORMAT: This year marks the first under the new format for the GSC tournament as six teams have earned berths to the event. The top two seeds – Christian Brothers and West Alabama – earned byes to the semifinals while No. 3 seed UAH hosts sixth-seeded Delta State and the fourth seed Shorter hosts No. 5 seed West Florida on Tuesday.

DEFENDING THE HOME PITCH: The Chargers have been especially strong at Charger Park this season, posting an unblemished 7-0-0 mark in Huntsville. UAH has allowed just four goals at home, outscoring the opposition by an 18-4 clip, but the team has also faced some tight situations in home games, winning four contests by just one including three overtime victories.

ABOUT DELTA STATE: The Statesmen enter the contest at 7-9-0 on the year, but DSU won three straight to end the regular season including a victory over West Florida that pushed the team into the postseason. Amine Rahmani leads Delta State with five goals and three assists for 13 points.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH owns a 12-2-0 mark against the Statesmen all-time, and the Chargers have won three straight in the series after dropping a pair of matches to DSU – then under the direction of current Charger head coach

THIS YEAR AGAINST THE STATESMEN: The Chargers defeated Delta State by a 2-1 score in overtime back on Sept. 28, erasing a 1-0 halftime deficit to earn the victory in overtime. Amine Rahmani put the Statesmen on the board with a penalty kick in the 33rd minute, but
Hermann Bjornsson scored in the 65th to knot the affair.
Ian Dempsey then won it for the home side in the 95th minute. The Chargers outshot Delta State by a wide 29-8 margin in the game.
