Title on the Line as West Alabama Visits Friday Night

West Alabama (7-6-2, 6-1-1 GSC) vs. UAH (10-4-0, 7-1-0 GSC)
Friday, Oct. 30 | 7:30 p.m. | Stats
Charger Park

RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers stepped out of conference play for their only match in the last week, knocking off visiting Montevallo 3-0 on Oct. 21. Three Chargers recorded multi-point performances led by Hermann Bjornsson and James Ballamy who both logged a goal and an assist, while Jordan Wright assisted on a pair of UAH scores.

HIGH STAKES: Much is on the line Friday night when UAH welcomes West Alabama as the Chargers will win the Gulf South Conference regular season title for the first time since 1999 with a victory, and winning the regular season crown would also give UAH hosting rights for the 2015 GSC Championships semifinals and finals with the Chargers and the second seed earning byes to next Friday's semifinal round.

OTHER SCENARIOS: The following is a list of other possible scenarios that arise from possible outcomes on Friday night:

UAH No. 1: with tie AND Lee loss or tie
UAH No. 2: with tie AND Lee win; with loss AND Lee loss or tie
UAH No. 3: with loss AND Lee win

STELLAR SENIORS: Friday's contest will mark the final regular season contest on the Charger Park pitch for UAH's seniors: Esra Arnason, James Ballamy, Brent DeSilva, Rafn Haraldsson, John Imwalle, Kristinn Kristinsson, and Michael Winstone. The program has seen a complete makeover during the group's tenure, including earning the team's first national ranking since 1997 a year ago, and the Chargers have racked up 33 wins over the past three seasons.

OFFENSIVE ATTACK: Behind Jordan Wright's team-best 13 goals, the Chargers are averaging 2.71 goals per game which is tops in the GSC, and, also an indicator of the team's dangerousness going forward, the Chargers rank second in the conference with 84 corners earned on the year.

ABOUT WEST ALABAMA: The Tigers are 7-6-2 on the season and just 2-3-1 on the road after falling 2-1 in overtime at Montevallo in their last contest, but UWA is a strong 6-1-1 in conference play and can potentially win the league with a win. Alex Brown leads the team offensively with six goals on the season, while Joshua Bramwell has four shutouts in goal for the Tigers.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 0-6-1 all-time against the Tigers with the tie coming in last year's GSC tournament that saw West Alabama advance on penalty kicks. In last year's regular season meeting in Livingston, Rafn Haraldsson had one of UAH's two scores in a 3-2 setback.
