BOX SCORE | PHOTOSKNOXVILLE, Tenn. | The No. 12 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team travelled to SEC member Tennessee on Friday night for the squad's lone exhibition of the season and turned in a strong second-half showing in a 96-83 setback to the Vols.

Four Chargers scored in double figures in the contest with
Seab Webster leading the way with 21 on the night, while
Preston Herring was 4-for-6 from the field to add 14. Rounding out the double-figure scorers were
Chayse Elliott and
Kip Owens who both came off the bench to score 10.

Both Herring and Elliott grabbed seven boards to lead UAH on the glass.

The Vols led by as many as 27 in the second half, but a shooting mark of 51.5 percent in the final 20 minutes allowed the Chargers to cut the deficit to as little as 11 as UAH outscored the hosts by a 42-34 mark for the half.

Webster had nine of his 21 in the second half, and in the frame
Greg Gardner was 3-for-4 from the field and totaled eight points in addition to collecting three of his team-high five assists.

Tennessee shot 50 percent from the field in the opening half, and 10 of UT's successful 19 shots were from beyond the arc, helping the Vols establish a 62-41 advantage at the break.

That momentum initially carried over into the start of the second as UT pushed the lead out to 77-50 with 14:41 left in the game.

Armani Moore scored 29 to lead the Vols.

For the contest, UT outshot UAH by a slim 44.9 to 43.8 percent clip, and the hosts also held a 45-36 advantage in rebounding.

The Chargers outscored Tennessee in the paint by a 38-32 margin, and UAH forced 11 turnovers and converted those into 15 points while limiting the Vols to just seven points off of 13 giveaways.

UAH will now turn its attention to the regular season, heading down to the Sunshine State for the season opener against Tampa at Saint Leo. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. CST.
