POLLING PLACE: UAH received the highest recognition by Perfect Game who had the Chargers moving up four spots to No. 6 in the nation. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association tabbed head coach Hunter Royer's squad to No. 11, while D2 Baseball News rated UAH as No. 12 in the NCAA.

RECENT ACTION: The Chargers opened GSC play at home against West Georgia this past weekend, coming away with a series win after taking the series opener 5-2 and the finale 5-4. UAH is one of six GSC teams with 2-1 conference record behind only Lee who swept Union in the opening weekend of conference games.

SLUGGING AWAY: UAH amassed five home runs as a team this past week in games against Tuskegee and West Georgia, led by Chandler Brock and Colton Simbeck who had two apiece. Simbeck registered homers against Tuskegee and in the finale against UWG, while Brock had his first multi-home run game of the season with two in the opener against the Wolves. Overall, the Chargers are first in the conference with 11 homers and second with a .555 slugging percentage.

EFFICIENT RELIEF: Senior Luke Mould improved to 2-0 on the season and added his first save of the 2014-15 campaign this past weekend, as he keyed wins in the opener and finale against UWG. Overall on the weekend, Mould worked 3.1 innings with four strikeouts while not allowing a single baserunner. This season, the right-hander has not allowed a hit, run or walk in 5.1 innings pitched.

LEADING THE WAY: UAH leadoff man and senior Cody Burton is off to a hot start in the 2015 season, batting .450 through seven games with a .613 on-base percentage. This past week, Burton was exceptional batting .538 (7-for-13) with six runs, two RBI, two walks, one double, two triples and one homer. Burton is fourth in the GSC in on-base percentage and second in slugging percentage (.900).

VALUING AT-BATS: The Chargers rank first in the GSC with just 32 strikeouts as a team through seven games played, while ranking fourth in the league with a .321 batting average and third with a .403 on-base percentage. Sophomore Trey Mathis tops the Blue and White with a .478 batting average, while Burton leads the team with a .613 OBP. UAH has a total of four regulars batting above .330.

REGIONAL UPDATE: The Blue and White came in at No. 3 in the latest NCBWA South Region poll, which is one spot down from being ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll. The Chargers are still the highest rated Gulf South Conference squad, despite falling behind Tampa and Nova Southeastern for the top two spots in the poll.

MATCHUP HISTORY: UAH will be travelling to Lee for the first time in program history, after hosting Lee for the program's first matchup with the Flames last season. The Chargers and Flames split a doubleheader, with UAH winning the finale 6-2 to earn the series victory.

FLAMES PROFILE: Lee comes into the weekend with a 9-0 record and 3-0 record in the GSC after most recently sweeping Union in a three-game series in Cleveland, Tennessee by scores of 2-0, 3-2, and 3-1. The Flames pitching staff has excelled at the outset of the 2015 season, compiling a team ERA of 1.01. Offensively, Lee boasts five regulars batting above .500 led by Andres Nelo who is batting .385 with five extra-base hits and 10 runs scored.
