FOLLOW LIVE STATS | LISTEN TO THE GAME | WATCH THE ACTIONLAKELAND, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team will open up its fifth NCAA Division II South Regional appearance in the past six seasons on Saturday, as the third-seeded Chargers will take on No. 6 seed Lynn at 11 a.m. CDT at the Jenkins Field House on the campus of Florida Southern College on Saturday. UAH enters the weekend at 23-8, while the Fighting Knights are 19-9.
Â
After missing out on the national postseason event last year, the Chargers return for the program's eighth-ever NCAA tournament berth, and Florida Southern is the host for a  third straight season, dating back to UAH's appearance in Lakeland in 2013.
Â
The Chargers have won six of their last seven contests heading into the tournament including three straight last week en route to the program's second-ever Gulf South Conference tournament title.
Â
Seab Webster was terrific for UAH in the conference tournament, scoring 17.3 points per game during the three-game event while grabbing 5.3 rebounds per contest. The sophomore was particularly strong from beyond the arc, shooting 61.9 percent with a 13-for-21 performance shooting the 3-ball.
Â
Webster's strong showing from downtown highlights a trend for UAH who has connected on at least 10 3-pointers in eight consecutive games. The Chargers – who are 11-4 this season when hitting at least 10 treys – finished the season hitting 44.0 percent of their 3-point attempts in that eight-game stretch – a mark that is significantly better than UAH's 37.8 3-point field goal percentage for the season.
Â
The Fighting Knights have dropped four of their last five games, but three of those setbacks came to the top two seeds at this weekend's regional, falling twice to Florida Southern while also dropping a contest at Barry.
Â
Senior Aaron Harrison leads the offensive ledger for LU, scoring 16.3 points per contest while also grabbing a team-high 6.1 rebounds per contest, and he is joined by Benjamin Berry who is also averaging double figures with 11.6 points per contest. Russell Wilson is the team leader in assists, dishing out 5.5 helpers.
Â
The team is strong defensively, collecting nearly 12 steals per game while also blocking more than six shots per contest.
Â
The two programs have met just twice with Lynn taking both contests, and the last meeting came in the 2010-11 season.
Â
The winner of Saturday's contest will take on the winner of second-seeded Barry and No. 7 seed Union on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. The other regional quarterfinal contests are top-seed Florida Southern taking on eighth-seeded Benedict and West Georgia playing West Alabama in the four-five showdown.
