HUNTSVILLE | Making its fifth appearance in the tournament semifinals in the past six seasons, top-seeded UAH will take on No. 5 seed Union in the 2015 VisitSpaceCoast.com GSC Men's Basketball Tournament on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University.
 
The Chargers (21-8) advanced in the tournament after throttling rival North Alabama 97-79 on Tuesday, while Union (20-9) earned a spot in Friday's game with a 77-76 road win at Shorter in the quarterfinals.
 
UAH won both meetings in the regular season with the Bulldogs, winning 81-73 in Jackson, Tennessee, and 75-74 at home.
 
In the road victory, sophomore Seab Webster erupted for 33 points in a back-and-forth contest that featured 19 lead changes and six ties, and three other Chargers scored in double figures in the contest including a double-double from Preston Herring who scored 12 while grabbing 10 rebounds.
 
Just 12 days ago on Feb. 21, Union made the return trip to Huntsville and led by nine points with just over three minutes left in the contest before UAH completed a thrilling comeback that was capped off by an old-fashioned 3-point play from Troy Saxton with 15.8 seconds left in the contest. Ronnie Mack had 20 in the contest, while Greg Gardner had a terrific all-around showing with 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
 
Webster was also the star for UAH on Tuesday night against UNA as he hit six 3-pointers in the first half on his way to a 28-point performance, and the all-GSC selection leads UAH in scoring with 15.4 points per contest.
 
Union is led by Corieon Pearson who scored 30 in Huntsville against the Chargers, and he averages 18.3 points per game.
 
The winner of the contest will face the winner of West Georgia-West Alabama on Saturday in the final at 4:30 p.m.
