HUNTSVILLE | The field for the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships as well as the USTFCCCA All-South Region performers were released on Tuesday evening, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville will send seven athletes across nine events to Nationals while boasting a total of 23 all-region honorees.

The UAH men's squad – which has been nationally ranked in the top 20 all season for the first time in program history – registered 15 athletes on the All-South Region squad, headlined by six Chargers garnering berths to Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 2-4.

The Chargers who will be heading to Nationals on the men's side for UAH include
Tyrique Davis-Giles (100 meter relay),
Elijah Dryer (200 meter, 100 meter relay),
Ojay Gibson (100 meter relay),
Zach Hancock (shot put, discus),
Trevian Jenkins (100 meter relay),
Alex May (long jump, triple jump), and
Rashaad Pollard (100 meter relay).

UAH also generated All-South Region performances by
Jeff Bannon (pole vault),
Jay Day (3000 meter steeplechase),
Brydon Groves-Scott (10000 meter),
Garrison Hill (pole vault),
Torique King (triple jump),
Benji Knox (5000 meter),
Timothy Patterson (decathlon),
Rob Russell (javelin) and
Chandler Smith (javelin).

On the women's side, the Chargers will be represented by
Jairyn Russell at Nationals as she qualified for the 100 meter and the 200 meter while also being an All-South Region honoree, and she was joined by teammates
Courtney Canady (heptathlon),
Erin Jewell (discus),
Marlee Mason (3000 meter steeplechase),
Marcie Roberts (pole vault),
Angel Sillivant (5000 meter, 10000 meter),
Bailey Simmons (hammer), and
Rebekah Voss (javelin) as an all-region performer.
