Track & Field Posts Three New School Records

OXFORD, Miss. | The UAH men's and women's track & field teams traveled Oxford, Mississippi to compete in the 2026 Joe Walker Invitational, highlighted by several standout performances across track and field events.

Women's Notable Performances

• Amiah Murry continued her dominant outdoor season, winning the women's 400m with a time of 52.65, a NCAA D-II provisional mark and new school record. She also claimed another school record in the 200m with a 23.40, another provisional mark.
• Anna Katherine Hopkins won the women's 1500m with a time of 4:38.03, while Tamsyn Gibbs followed in second place with a 4:40.59, and Lucy Horne rounded out the Chargers' showing with a fifth-place finish at 4:49.92.
• Cooper Garrett took second place in the women's javelin throw with a toss of 46.60m, a provisional mark.
• Jadlyn Debardlabon took fourth in the women's long jump at 5.75m.
• Hekla Magnusdottir finished fourth in the heptathlon with a score of 4,902, a new school record in the event, while Caroline Sanders placed sixth at 4,640.

Men's Notable Performances

• Jaiden Young turned in a third-place finish and provisional mark in the men's 400 meters at 47.31.
• Will Griffin took second place in the men's javelin throw with a toss of 58.07m, while Kodie Bogle finished third at 57.63m.
• Griffin Cooper placed third in the men's high jump, clearing 2.00m, while Malik Turner took fourth at 1.95m.
• Turner also placed second in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.04m.
• Tommy Rodriguez placed third in the men's 400 meter hurdles at 54.34.

The Chargers are back in action this weekend as they host the UAH Rocket City Invitational at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville on April 17th and 18th.
