HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH track and field teams will send four individuals and one relay team to the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for May 21-23 at Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
The Chargers earned national qualifying berths across six events, highlighted by junior sprinter
Amiah Murry, who will compete in both the 200 meters and the 400 meters. Murry claimed First Team All-GSC recognition in both the 200m and 400m at the 2026 GSC Outdoor Championships, where she set a new conference record in the 400 meters.
Murry will also anchor the UAH women's 4x100-meter relay team, which qualified for the national meet. The relay squad consists of
Jadlyn Debardlabon,
Deja Hines,
Summer Sutherlin, Murry and
Aniya Johnson. The group earned First Team All-GSC honors at the conference championships.
Freshman
Cooper Garrett qualified in the javelin throw with a NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a throw of 46.71 meters at the UAB Spring Invitational. Garrett went on to win the javelin at the GSC Outdoor Championships, setting a new conference record in the process.
Senior
Julius Williams punched his ticket to Emporia in the triple jump after earning First Team All-GSC honors at the conference meet with a mark of 15.20 meters.
Distance runner Ahmed Ibrahim rounds out UAH's national qualifiers in the 5000 meters. Ibrahim earned GSC Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors in April after posting an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 13:58.54 seconds at the Stanford Invitational. He earned Second Team All-GSC honors at the conference championships.
Competition at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships begins Thursday, May 21, and concludes Saturday, May 23. Live streaming will be available through NCAA.com.
