HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville head track & field coach David Cain announced the addition of Duke Kicinski as assistant coach for the program working primarily with the Chargers throwers.
 
A native of Rhome, Texas, Kicinski joins the Chargers track & field programs after most recently coaching alongside two-time World Champion shot-putter Ryan Whiting from Desert High Performance for the past two years.  
 
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Kicinski had a storied collegiate career between competing at Division II West Texas A&M and then Division I Texas Tech, which was highlighted by a pair of Big 12 individual championships in the shot put as well as a USTFCCCA Second Team All-American distinction in 2018 in the shot put.
 
The Red Raiders had a bevy of success while Kicinski was a member of the program, winning the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Championship along with four consecutive Big 12 titles.
 
Before becoming a Division I All-American, Kicinski was a 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Individual Champion in the discus after earning Second Team All-America honors for the discus in the 2015 outdoor campaign.
 
Kicinski earned his undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Texas Tech in 2018.
