HUNTSVILLE | The 2022 Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division II Preseason Top 40 was announced, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville came in at No. 32 in the preseason prognostications.
 
The rankings were led by reigning 2021 NCAA South Region Champions Tampa, as UAH was one of four teams representing the South Region with Lee at No. 17 and West Florida at No. 27.
 
UAH has two more teams on its schedule in the preseason top 40 in addition to LU and UWF, including No. 8 Trevecca Nazarene and No. 26 Young Harris.
 
The Chargers are coming off the program's first trip to a South Regional in seven seasons with the team holding a 23-20 overall record and a 16-14 mark in Gulf South Conference play.
 
UAH opens the 2022 campaign at Charger Park on Feb. 5-6 against Carson Newman.
