MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams opened up the 2021 outdoor campaign at the Montevallo Falcon Invite on Friday and Saturday with the men's squad finishing first overall and the women's squad placing second.
 
Men's Notables
-Wilson McClain reset the program record in 110 meter hurdles with a first-place time of 14.51. His time of 14.51 additionally met the NCAA provisional standard.
-Zach Hancock broke the program record in the hammer throw and shot put with first-place hurls of 52.96 meters in the hammer and 17.79 meters in the shot put. He additionally had a first-place mark of 52.25 meters in the discus. His marks in the shot put and discuss also topped the NCAA provisional standard.
-Garrison Hill eclipsed the NCAA provisional mark in the pole vault with a first-place height of 4.92 meters.
-Jacob Bishop placed first overall in the 3000 meter steeplechase at 9:33.26, and he was joined in the top three of the event by teammate Zach Howard at 9:55.74.
-Hunter Nails won the 5000 meter with a time of 15:11.63.
 
Women's Notables
-Zakiria Holifield notched a pair of top three finishes with a second-place time of 12.36 in the 100 meter and a time of 24.91 for third place in the 200 meter.
-Serenity Andrus claimed first overall in the 400 meter with a time of 56.10.
-UAH had two of the three fastest times in the 3000 meter steeplechase as Taylor Engram placed second at 11:52.45 and Marlee Mason finished third at 12:01.94.
-Nikki Mata garnered first place in 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.00.
