BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly men's track & field award winners, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Zach Hancock as GSC Field Athlete of the Week and Wilson McClain as GSC Co-Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week.

A Madison, Alabama, native, Hancock finished first overall and reset the program record in the discus at 57.41 meters and the hammer throw at 54.89 meters at the Lee Flames Invitational, while also finishing fourth in the shot put at 18.14 meters which matched his personal best.

His toss of 57.41 meters in the discus is one of four NCAA automatic marks this season, as he now ranks fourth in the nation in the event.

McClain registered a second-place and program-record time of 13.82 in 110 meter hurdles at the Lee Flames Invitational, and he became one of two runners in Division II this season to eclipse the NCAA automatic mark in the event as he now rates second nationally in 110 meter hurdles.

UAH looks ahead to the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta on Saturday.
