MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up day two of the 2021 GSC Outdoor Championships with the men's team in first and the women's team in a tie for fifth in the overall standings.
 
Noteworthy
-UAH notched two performers on the podium in the men's decathlon, as Timothy Patterson finished second at 6341 points followed by Trey McFarland at 6172 points.
-Zach Hancock became a triple GSC individual champion with a first-place, NCAA-automatic hurl of 18.56 meters in the shot put, which also break the program record. He has now broken the GSC Championships records in the discus, hammer and shot put.
-Stephen Tanner garnered Second Team All-GSC in the shot put after backing up Hancock in second place at 16.08 meters.
-UAH had two runners qualify for the 100-meter finals as Zakiria Holifield placed third at 12.13 and Krystalynn Oatman earned fifth at 12.31 in the preliminary round.
