BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly men's outdoor track & field award winners, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Zach Hancock as GSC Field Athlete of the Week.
 
This is Hancock's second GSC Field Athlete of the Week honor this season and the 11th time in his career to earn the distinction.
 
A native of Madison, Alabama, Hancock posted second-place performances in both the discus at 55.53 meters and in the shot put at 18.19 meters. He topped the NCAA provisional mark in both events, as he now ranks first nationally in the discus and sixth in the shot put.
 
UAH is away from competition this week, before heading to Cleveland, Tennessee, on April 8-9 for the Flames Invitational.
