HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team hosts Mississippi College for a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Charger Park with a single game Friday at 6 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

The Chargers enter the series with the Choctaws with a 12-19 overall record and a 5-9 mark in GSC play, following a 12-8 loss at Carson-Newman in a nonconference contest on Wednesday. UAH's last GSC action was last weekend at Lee, with the Chargers winning two-of-three in the series.

UAH's offense continues to be one of the leaders in the conference, as the team ranks in the top four of the league in runs (224), hits (307), doubles (61), home runs (31), RBI (194), total bases (467), slugging percentage (.452), and on-base percentage (.398).

Jackson Lindsey has been a strong contributor in his first collegiate season with a team-high .356 batting average and 10 doubles while starting in all of the Chargers 31 games. His 10 doubles rank tied for sixth in the GSC, while his .356 batting average rates in the top 20 of the conference.

Landon Ezzell leads the team with a career-high eight round-trippers entering the weekend.

Mississippi College enters the Rocket City with a 12-19 overall record and a 6-9 GSC record, following an 11-6 victory over William Carey in nonconference action Tuesday. MC's last GSC matchup was with No. 14 Valdosta State, winning one-of-three last weekend against the Blazers.

Ken Scott has been the leading slugger for the Choctaws with nine doubles, five homers and a team-best 31 RBI to go along with a .288 batting average, while the MC pitching staff owns a 5.96 team ERA. Jackson Bridges is the top starting pitcher, boasting a 3.91 ERA over 46.0 innings.

UAH holds a 10-4 all-time record against Mississippi College in a series that dates back to the 1996 season. The Chargers won the series over the Choctaws in Clinton, Mississippi, last season with two wins to open the weekend set on March 12-13.
