BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The UAH men's and women's track and field teams competed for the first time in the 2024 calendar year at the UAB Vulcan Invite on Saturday.

Men's Notable Performances

Wilson McClain topped the NCAA provisional mark in 60-meter hurdles at a ninth –place time of 8.15.
-
Michael Gizzi landed on the national list in the 200-meter dash, finishing second overall with a clocking of 21.20.
-
Ayden Walton had a stellar display in the triple jump, as the freshman eclipsed the NCAA provisional standard in the event at 15.08 meters.
-Weston Ellison notched fourth place in the 800-meter race at a time of 1:58.89.
-UAH had two runners place in the top four of the mile, including
Nathan Knox in third at 4:15.13 and
Conner Patterson in fourth at 4:21.37.

Women's Notable Performances

Grace Hampel landed in fourth overall in the 500-meter race with a time of 1:20.17.

Aniya Johnson registered a fifth-place finish in the high jump at 1.65 meters.

Amiah Murry garnered fourth in the triple jump, as the freshman went for 11.22 meters in the event.
