BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly men's track & field honorees, and the UAH men's track & field team was represented by
Michael Gizzi as GSC Track Athlete of the Week.

This is the second straight week Gizzi has been voted GSC Track Athlete of the Week.

A native of Covington, Georgia, Gizzi competed at the Louisville PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational over the weekend, as he posted NCAA provisional performances in three events.

Gizzi ran the second-fastest 200-meter sprint in NCAA Division II at a time of 21.15 for second overall in the race where he was the only non-NCAA Division I runner. He additionally clocked in at 6.80 for 14th in the 60-meter dash as well as helping UAH's 4x400 meters relay team to an NCAA provisional time of 3:15.67.

The Chargers 400-meter relay team now ranks 24th nationally.

Gizzi and the rest of the Chargers look ahead to competing at the South Carolina Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
