Track & Field Records Three NCAA Provisional Marks in Weekend Action

CLEVELAND, Tenn. & TUSCALOOSA, Ala. | The UAH men's and women's track & field teams split up competition between the Lee Flames Fast Break Invitational and the Alabama Crimson Tide Invitational for this week's action.
 
Alabama Invitational Notable Performances
-UAH's 4x100 meters relay team of Wilson McClain, Michael Gizzi, Tommy Rodriguez and Ke'Andre Campbell topped the NCAA provisional time with a clocking of 40.37 for sixth place.
-McClain also placed sixth in 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.02, which eclipses the NCAA standard.
-Gizzi additionally had an NCAA provisional time and broke the program record in the 200-meter dash with a sixth-place time of 20.92.
-Nathan Knox won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a first-place time of 9:15.98
-Ivy Teachey nearly recorded an NCAA provisional time in 100-meter hurdles, finishing 14th at 14.42.
 
Lee Invitational Notable Performances
-Emily McMurry placed third overall at Lee in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:41.85.
-Raegan Miller garnered fourth in the pole vault at Lee at 3.50 meters.
-UAH had top six finishers in three throwing events, including Hannah Gant in fifth at 45.05 meters in the hammer, TaNiyah Thomas in sixth at 36.47 meters in the discus and Hailey Smith in sixth at 33.57 meters in the javelin.
-Jared Tittle highlighted the men's side with a second-place throw of 57.28 meters in the javelin.
-Adolfo Mireles clocked in at 55.63 in 400-meter hurdles for fifth overall.
-John English was sixth overall in the shot put at 13.74 meters.
 
Next Time Out
-UAH splits its action again next weekend at the Azusa Pacific Brian Clay Invitational and the Berry Field Day Invitational next Thursday through Saturday.
