MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The UAH men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up competition at the 2024 Gulf South Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday with the men's team finishing second and the women's squad ending in third.

Overall, UAH combined for a total of 20Â All-GSC performers as the Chargers men's squad had eight First Team honorees and five on the Second Team while the women's team had two First Team distinctions and five on the Second Team as well.

The Chargers were additionally represented by
Michael Gizzi as the GSC Outdoor Championships Most Outstanding Track Performer while
Ayden Walton was the Most Outstanding Freshman Performer.

Gizzi picked up two GSC individual titles on Saturday in a pair of sprinting events, topping the field in both the 100-meter sprint at a time of 10.37 and the 200-meter dash at a 21.03 clocking.

The Covington, Georgia, native additionally helped UAH's 4x100 meters relay team that also featured
Ke'Andre Campbell,
Tommy Rodriguez and
Wilson McClain to a First Team All-GSC performance with a GSC-record time of 39.80.

Walton highlighted the Chargers in the field on Saturday with a First Team All-GSC performance in the triple jump at 15.01 meters, while
Jared Tittle and
Thomas Vaughn picked up Second Team honors in the javelin (57.67m) and pole vault (4.40m), respectively.

UAH's men's squad performed well in hurdling events, as
Eon Morris locked up a First Team All-GSC distinction in 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.52 and McClain placed second in 110-meter hurdles at 14.34 for Second Team honors.

Wes Ellison joined McClain as a Second Team honoree with a second-place time of 1:51.70 in the 800-meter race.

UAH's 4x400 meters team of Robinson, Dortch,
Keziah Mickler and
Aniya Johnson garnered First Team honors with a top time of 3:51.59 in the final event of the 2024 GSC Outdoor Championships.

The Chargers women's team recorded four Second Team All-GSC performances in sprinting events including
Chandler Robinson in 400 meters (57.23),
Jordyn Dortch in 200 meters (24.10),
Janae Hilliard in 100 meters (11.78) and
Ivy Teachey in 100-meter hurdles (14.42).

UAH looks ahead to select individuals competing at the Lee Last Chance Qualifier on May 11 ahead of the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships on May 23-25 in Emporia, Kansas.
